Maximedia is an association of journalists and information consultants committed to ensuring low-cost, high-impact communication for non-profits.
Set up as a company in 1984, Maximedia produces everything from flyers and posters to booklets and Websites. New projects include CD-ROM creation and low-cost video (digital filming). We have what we think is an unparalleled list of contacts in scientific, environmental and development journalism.
Our clients include the World Health Organization, United Nations Environment Programme, U.N. Environmental Citizenship Initiative, Consumers International, the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development, the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe, HABITAT and IUCN-The World Conservation Union.
We also helped finance and produce CROSSLINES Global Report, a unique international journal of comment and reporting on the humanitarian agencies, which was later published in association with the Swiss-based Media Action International (formerly the International Centre for Humanitarian Reporting). crosslines.ch continues this effort, with a focus on Geneva events, using a twitter account, a blog and the site as a repository of Global Report articles as well as commentary on current humanitarian issues at the U.N. in Geneva.
Our latest projects include e-mediate, a Website for those interested in new media issues. We are also building an informal styleguide for writers and editors who work for the U.N.
